10 Tips for Improved Time Management
Managing time is a major struggle for many of us. Lack of productivity and procrastination are usually the result of poor time management. Make the most of your time by taking advantage of these helpful tips...

1. Make Lists

Lists help keep you focused and on task. Create a list of tasks in advance for the upcoming day. When you find yourself distracted or unsure of what to do next, refer to the list, which will help put yourself back on track. When you complete a task, cross that item off the list -- this will give you a sense of accomplishment, and will also help motivate you to tackle the next item on the list.

2012 Reflections, 2013 Predictions
2012 was scarred with senseless tragedies, the Costa Concordia the majestic cruise liner, went down off the Tuscan island of Giglio, Italy when it was said the captain was showing off to islander friends. Horrific tornados that tour through the mid-western United States stole the lives of even the littlest angels. A horrific mass shooting at the Batman opening in Colorado showed a careless disregard for life. Sadly this was followed by a shooting at Seikh Temple in Oak Bridge, Wisconsin, taking the lives of worshippers.

Customer Testimonials and Profiles
Testimonials are essentially 3rd-party endorsements for a product or service. Potential customers will often look for testimonials when faced with a purchasing decision. Customer testimonials can increase sales closing rates by removing uncertainty and instilling confidence in the customer. Additionally, testimonials that describe solutions for real-life problems can be very well received by others that may be struggling with similar issues.

The more detailed and specific a testimonial is, the more credibility it will have. Testimonials can be used in conjunction with white papers to fully explain how the product or service has resolved a real-life problem. In many cases, other businesses in the industry may be struggling with similar issues or problems, and explaining how your product or service fulfilled a need and solved a problem can sometime make the difference between getting the sale or not. A white paper combined with a credible endorsement is a powerful sales tool.

2011 Reflections and 2012 Predictions
No country suffered more than Japan in 2011. Japan was rocked by an 8.9 earthquake, then a tsunami  that was created from the quake, hit the small island. The powerful waves caused damage to a nuclear power plant. The tsunami caused significant damage to one of Japan’s plants making it impossible to properly cool or shutdown the nuclear reactor. The inability to cool the plant resulted in a nuclear melt down, and the escape of radiation.  When the trifecta hit, the Japanese people earned the world’s respect, they managed the tragedy with stoicism and grace. The consequences of this horrible tragedy, and implications of the radiation leaks, into the sea and atmosphere, are still unknown. Japan will bear the scars from 2011 for generations to come.

Why Recycle Cell Phones
Cellular phones and other mobile devices often contain toxic materials that can pollute the environment. The chemicals contained in the cell phones and electronics are harmful to the health of both humans and animals. Cell phones and their accessories contain a large number of hazardous substances known as Persistent, Bioaccumulative, and Toxic Chemicals (PBTs). Some of the chemicals contained in the PBTs have been known to cause damage to nervous systems, reproductive systems, and developmental systems, as well as causing cancer.

When recycled properly, the materials can be put back into circulation, reducing the health risks to the community. The materials that are contained in old cell phones can often be recycled and reused to make a variety of other products. Additionally, in order to comply with environmental protection regulations, many countries have very specific requirements and methods for disposing of cell phones, batteries, and other toxic items. Rather than wrestling with disposal guidelines yourself, it is often much easier to just sell or donate old cell phones to a company qualified to recycle them.

Reflections for 2008 and Predictions for 2009
2008 was a year filled with great triumphs and a year scarred by deep sorrow. What 2008 was not, was a peaceful year, and whether the world is a better place, for having endured is unclear.

Russia's invasion of Georgia has chilled Russia's relations with the West, a resurgence of the Cold War may be on the horizon. The Tibetan monk's protests being crushed in the streets demonstrate that freedom of speech, is not a God given right for all. The continued unrest in Middle East is no longer news, but simply part of daily life in the region.

Close calls with Hurricane Gustav in New Orleans and the water lapping at the edge of overburdened levies caused concern that the lessons of Katrina have still not yet been fully learned. The heartbreaking destruction of Hurricane Ike in Galveston and the Texas coast shows that while the US has made progress, she is still no match for mother nature. Nature's wrath still wields a heavy hand. As horrific as the despair in Galveston, it paled in comparison to the cyclone that hit Burma/Mynamar, taking the lives of more than 100,000 people in the region. China, widely thought to be a rising world power, was no match for the 8.0 earthquake that collapsed buildings like tinker toys.

Through leadership change, we often see policy change. Unfortunately Fidel Castro's retirement in 2008 did nothing to free Cuba from the constrains of dictatorship with Raul Castro stepping into the leadership role on the tiny island.

Early on in 2008, the Hollywood writers strike in 2008 showed that American can in fact live without television. Regardless of the break from television, technology certainly played a role in the 2008 elections.
